About Your Role
The Senior Occupational Therapist Level 3 is responsible for delivering timely, efficient, evidence-based Occupational Therapy services to patients of Wagga Wagga Base Hospital (Murrumbidgee Local Health District) admitted in acute stroke unit and inpatient rehabilitation unit. This position is part of the team and will be supported by the manager, staff and stroke unit team The position involves a range of specialised clinical and administrative functions necessary for the provision of Occupational Therapy services to acute stroke patients and subacute rehabilitation inpatients. The senior clinician is required to have advanced reasoning and clinical skills with the ability to work both as part of a multidisciplinary team (both in stroke unit and rehabilitation ward) and independently. A key component of this role is the ability to follow up patients from acute stroke unit to inpatient rehabilitation ward thereby providing continuity of care and a seamless service. The senior occupational therapist will be a clinical resource to the team and is required to provide clinical supervision and support to Level 1/2 occupational therapists and clinical education to undergraduate occupational therapy students.
