We do this by: Making sure work health and safety laws are followed.Investigating work-related fatalities and serious injuries.Educating workplaces on ways to comply with legislation.Taking legal action when work health and safety laws are broken.Educating employees and employers on their legal obligations.Workplace Health and Safety Queensland (WHSQ) is responsible for working with industry, unions and the community to improve work health and safety outcomes in Queensland.
WHSQ works with industry and the community to build positive safety cultures and build safety capability, investigate workplace fatalities and serious injuries and where necessary uses enforcement and prosecution as targeted responses.
WHSQ employees work as mobile and flexible teams from locations across Queensland within dedicated investigation, compliance or business engagement streams.
Our offices cover North and Central Queensland; Brisbane and Sunshine Coast; South West Queensland and Gold Coast.
Your contribution. As the Client Service Officer, you will work as part of the administration team for the Compliance and Field Services directorate of Workplace Health and Safety Queensland (WHSQ).
The Client Service Officer will work within a small administration team led by the Regional Coordinator, to provide support to the Regional Director, Regional Management Team and Inspectorate staff.
The position is located at the Robina office within the Southwest Gold Coast Region and at times administration assistance is provided to other offices within the region as required.
Key responsibilities • Assist with management of Fleet vehicles including rotation of fleet to maximise efficiencies, arrange repairs and maintenance, enter data into the online In Vehicle Monitoring System (IVMS).
Prepare reports and update spreadsheets for management;• Maintain and retrieve information necessary to efficiently provide the delivery of WHSQ services, including accessing and maintaining data held in the online databases (CISR);• Preparation of documents requested under Right to Information and Memorandum of Understanding legislation;• Booking of travel through the online QTravel system and preparation of pre and post travel documentation;• Assist in the purchasing and issue of goods and services in accordance with delegated authorities and in compliance with Departmental Purchasing Policy;• Preparation of Petty Cash, CabCharge vouchers and monthly reconciliation; and• Actively participate in the promotion of a discrimination-free workplace culture that values equity and diversity.

We'll consider how well you: • Display sound knowledge of operating functions and general office procedures.
Demonstrate a high standard of office administration competency including keyboard and word processing skills and familiarity with database and spreadsheet applications;• Demonstrate a high level of interpersonal skills with a proven client focus, including the ability to liaise and negotiate with a broad range of clients at all levels within the public and private sectors;• Demonstrate the ability to provide support in a broad range of office systems and information technology and the ability to implement improvements; and• Demonstrate organisational skills and the ability to provide project and administrative support including the ability to manage work priorities, meet deadlines and work as a team member under minimal supervision.
