The business is seeking a talented WHSQ Manager to be based in their Beresfield facility. This position requires someone with the ability to communicate with stakeholders on all levels and has had 3 - 5 years hands-on practical experience within an industrial, manufacturing, or engineering environment. As the WHSQ Manager, you will be responsible for but not limited to: Developing and/or implementing and/or managing Work Health and Safety (WHS) and wellbeing related programs. Ensuring timely completion of WHS incident investigations including implementation and follow-up of any corrective and preventative actions. Producing and maintaining a suitable quality management system that is compliant with ISO 9001:2015. Developing WHS insights and wellbeing initiatives by analysing incidents and interpreting trend and performance data. Providing evidence-based advice, including through research and data analysis, to senior management on the wellbeing program and the application of WHS legislation and related policies and procedures. Contributing to implementation and continuous improvement of WHS management systems in accordance with legislation and policies, including development and implementation of corrective action plans, following reviews or audits. Supporting health case management (in the APS context) for compensable and non-compensable matters, rehabilitation, and early intervention. Engaging with internal and external stakeholders on complex and sensitive WHS and wellbeing issues, providing guidance and solutions. Undertaking other functions to support the work of the broader HR Advice and Support team when required. Essential Criteria: 3 - 5 years of hands-on WHSQ experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment. Thorough knowledge of Regulations, Australian Standards, and Approved Codes of Practice. Experience in managing and monitoring audit schedules and reporting on audit results. Computer literacy skills including the capacity to effectively use email, Microsoft Office suite, and web applications. Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. Understanding of Work, Health and Safety and risks to people and property as applied to the working environment. Current and valid Driver's License. Desirable Criteria: Tertiary Qualification in WHS, Training/Assessment, or engineering discipline. Able to demonstrate an extensive track record as a safety professional of establishing safe working environments within the manufacturing or engineering industry or similar role within Australia. Leadership skills with the ability to influence decision-making. Formal auditing qualification in AS 4801 Safety Management System.
