Job Description
As a casual Residential Youth Worker with Edmen, you can make a real difference in the lives of children and young people who are living in out-of-home care.
Working with some of Australia's best youth service providers, every day grants you a unique experience and adventure, empowering children and young people to live their best lives, in a nurturing and safe environment.
Location and Shift Times
Our locations include Pimpama and Helensvale.
Shift times may vary:
AM: 0600 - 1400 + 0800 - 1800 + 1130 - 2030
PM: 1400 - 2200 + 2200 - 0600 (Passive) + 0600 – 0930
We have a stable roster system and also offer emergency and ad-hoc shifts each week.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
* Create a Safe and Supportive Home: Foster a secure, nurturing environment for at-risk youth.
* Empower Daily Living: Assist with personal care, meals, and hygiene to promote independence.
* Facilitate Transportation: Ensure young people attend school, appointments, and community activities.
* Promote Growth: Encourage skill development and socialization within the local community.
* Manage Health Needs: Administer medications and maintain accurate reporting.
* Deliver Trauma-Informed Care: Support youth with complex behaviors using trauma-informed approaches.
* Engage in Therapeutic Practices: Participate in the Trauma Recovery framework and complete Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) within your first three months.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
* A Certificate IV in Youth Work, Child, Youth and Family Intervention, Social Work, Disability Support Work or similar qualification.
* An Australian Drivers License (P2 or higher).
* A Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
* A Current First Aid & CPR certificate.
* The ability to work a mixture of day, night and weekend shifts as required.
