The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) implements the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which is one of the biggest social reforms in the country since Medicare. A new role awaits The Cyber Security and Resilience Branch implements the requirements of government security policies and frameworks. This is achieved by providing strategic, tactical and operational Agency-wide oversight of Cyber Security and Operations. The Cyber Operations Team is responsible for the identification, response, and remediation of security incidents across the organisation. This role supports the NDIA to build cyber and operational resilience capabilities, by preventing, detecting and assessing cyber threats. Where you can add value The APS5 Cyber Security Officer is a team membership position and is accountable for organising their workflow and making independent decisions relating to an area of responsibility. The position will be required to provide policy advice within an area of specialisation with advice based on policies and legislation. Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to: Conducting monitoring, investigation, and mitigation of security incidents within security tools including Microsoft Defender 365 stack, Azure Security Centre, IntSights and Splunk. Analysing security event data and identifying suspicious and malicious activity from networks and systems. Performing incident response activities while under direction. Providing responses to events and incidents using established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Escalating and investigating complex incidents and engage with subject matter experts. Developing, performing and managing phishing simulations and reporting. Researching new and evolving threats and vulnerabilities that may impact the Agency. Working under broad direction and gaining knowledge in a range of technologies while assisting other junior staff. The successful candidate will have experience and technical knowledge in cyber security operations, with an understanding of ICT systems and infrastructure. We intend to fill this role in an ongoing capacity, however non-ongoing roles up to 12 months with the possibility of extension up to 2 years may be offered.
