Applicants require no partner dancing experience (ie Ballroom, Latin, Swing) but previous dance (ie ballet, jazz, tap etc) or sport experience a bonus. Only people with awesomely fun personalities need apply QuickSteps is Adelaide’s largest ballroom dancing school for adults teaching over 140 lessons per week. In under five years, we have become Adelaide's largest social school, and the only school offering full time employment and long term career options. We currently have a team of 5 and growing. Both ladies and gents are encouraged to apply Initially the teaching roles would be casual. Wedding season (October-April) brings an influx of new students wishing to learn their bridal waltz. What is important - The right personality. When adults learn to dance, it's not only about dancing - they want to have fun. Do you make people laugh and smile? If so, you'll love this job. Applicants who have enjoyed previous hospitality work are generally well suited. Dance ability. You can't be a dance teacher without a natural ability to move. This doesn't mean you have to have prior dance experience - but people who have previous dance (jazz, tap, hip-hop, ballet, contemporary) or sport (ie soccer, tennis, gymnastics) tend to be the people with natural dance ability who become great teachers. There is an initial interview, assessment and then training for 1-4 months (depending on experience and ability) after which teachers start teaching their own students.
