Current Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Development Planner to join our asset management team. This role is a step on the pathway to more senior leadership positions, and provides exposure to corporate strategy and decision making. In this leadership role, you will be instrumental in coordinating life of field development plans and detailed medium-term asset development strategies. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that our planning aligns with production targets, resource recovery, and economic and business outcomes.
Key accountabilities will include:
* Asset Planning:
o Develop detailed medium-term (1-3 year) asset development plans, including drilling sequences, processing facility plans, and water management strategies.
o Create emissions management plans that align with Senex’s sustainability targets.
o Ensure development plans meet subsurface requirements, production outcomes, and are efficiently deliverable by project teams.
o Prepare and present asset plan recommendations to the executive team
o Communicate plans to delivery teams and provide ongoing support to align delivery activities with the business outcomes of the asset plans.
* Leadership & Collaboration:
o Lead a team of subject matter experts in water management, emissions, and decarbonisation.
o Foster cross-functional alignment to ensure commitment to development plans across subsurface, access and approvals, project delivery, and operations.
* Opportunity Realisation:
o Work with the Integrated Planning Manager to identify and realise opportunities for asset value enhancement.
o Support the delivery teams throughout the project delivery process, ensuring timely and informed decision-making.
o Prepare decision and assurance review material to support investment governance processes, and make business case recommendations and proposals to the executive team.
* Performance Analysis:
o Contribute to the analysis of asset performance, identifying improvement opportunities and preparing recommendations for management.
About You
To be successful in the position, the following experience and skills will be required:
* Tertiary qualifications in a technical discipline (e.g., engineering, geology, mathematics) or finance/business, with 3+ years of relevant experience
* Experience in life of asset planning or resource extraction operational planning
* Advanced proficiency in data analysis and business case development, particularly in Excel
* Strong communication skills with experience in preparing technical documents and presentations
* Knowledge of the oil & gas industry is preferred.
