Job Description
La Trobe University is seeking a teaching-focused Level B academic with expertise in contemporary nursing practice and facilitating undergraduate and postgraduate education.
Key Responsibilities:
* Coordinate and teach subjects to provide high-quality learning experiences for students through lectures, tutorials, practical classes, demonstrations, workshops, student field excursions, clinical sessions, and other sessions in online, blended or face-to-face modes.
* Provide constructive, fair, and timely feedback on learning to students.
* Prioritise the embedding of employability capabilities in the curriculum.
* Lead and implement teaching improvement projects at subject, course, or discipline level.
* With mentoring support, obtain funding from internal or external sources for teaching improvement projects.
* Provide principle or co-supervision to Honours and Masters by coursework students.
Requirements:
* Registered or eligible to register as a Registered Nurse and/or Midwife with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
* A Masters in a Nursing or Midwifery related discipline.
* Experience in tertiary nursing education, including demonstrated effectiveness in teaching, curriculum development, and subject coordination in face-to-face, blended, and/or online modes.
* Demonstrated ability to influence the teaching practice of others.
Desirable Qualifications:
* A PhD in nursing or related discipline.
* Postgraduate studies in Child, Family, and Community Health and be eligible to work as a Maternal and Child Health in Victoria.
* Evidence of innovative initiatives undertaken in the last three years that have improved the student experience.
