Albany campus of The University of Western Australia is situated in the picturesque Great Southern region of Western Australia, our campus offers unique learning and research opportunities.
About the opportunity
As the appointee, you will work as part of a team, with academics in both Perth and Albany and teachers and school leaders in Albany to create an inclusive, engaging and productive learning environment where undergraduate students can flourish.
The BEd Primary (Honours) program is a four-year degree, and 2025 will be the first year that this course is offered in Albany.
All tutorial content will be provided and tutors will be expected to mark assessments and participate in moderation. Support and mentoring will be available and provided by UWA academics.
We are seeking sessional academic tutors to deliver face-to-face tutorials for two units in Semester 1, 2025:
EDUC1012 Teaching Mathematics in the Early Years of School (Tuesday 9-12)
EDUC1013 Teaching English in the Early Years of School (Thursday 9-12)
About you
Experience teaching primary school students
Strong pedagogical knowledge and understanding
Expert knowledge in either teaching the English curriculum or the Maths curriculum in the early years
Registration with the Teacher Registration Board of WA is preferable
A working with children check
A Masters degree (MEd, or MTeach) or doctoral degree (EdD, PhD)
