Rheinmetall NIOA Munitions Pty Ltd (RNM), a joint venture between Rheinmetall Waffe Munitions and NIOA Pty Ltd, operates a state-of-the-art forging and manufacturing facility in Maryborough QLD that produces artillery shell cases and other munitions-related products for supply to defence.
What are we looking for? RNM is now looking to add permanent full-time operators to the team who will support semi-automated and automated processes at various machine centres.

Key Accountabilities Support the Team Leaders to maintain the operational systems and processes for the work area relative to competence and skill as requested.
Perform routine tasks according to standard operating procedures and work instructions and exercise discretion within the level of skill and training either by instruction or following a work schedule.
Assist the production team by undertaking a variety of tasks including emptying swarf bins, mechanically loading or unloading material or product for automated processes, manual handling tasks for final packaging, cleaning and washdown of work station and tools, operational coolant checks, and operation of various machine centres such as bandsaw cutting, automated heat treatment plant, hardness testing, CNC turning & milling centres, balancing, hydraulic pressing processes, quality testing, and paint/surface protection.
Operate at various work centres with tasks that may include operation of numerical control process machinery, product handling, quality assurance through measuring, verifying, recording and reporting, problem-solving, operator level maintenance, housekeeping, and other general operator duties.
On occasion, you may be required to perform operation of motor vehicle and courier services, gardening maintenance, building, amenity and asset maintenance, and cleaning.
Receive and interpret instruction either verbally or by written instruction to perform non-routine tasks and deliver work of a high standard in accordance with the instructed criteria within the level of competence.
Actively listen and contribute constructively in a team environment including problem-solving activities, safety shares, operator duties, quality, meetings, training, projects, and continuous improvement.
Undertake training and development and rotation of work tasks or work centres as required for the efficient, safe, and effective operation of the facility.
May relieve other operators' duties in their absence as directed by the Team Leader or Production Manager.
Provide assistance in the training of others within level of skill and training capabilities.
Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience Good mechanical aptitude.
Secondary school certificate with satisfactory behaviour and effort or a certificate in engineering or manufacturing.
WHSE licence or certification HRWL LF forklift, first aid as necessary for the work area outlined in the training matrix.
Demonstrated experience following instruction, working independently under instruction, contributing as a team to a high quality and safe outcome in a technical/manufacturing environment.
Language Skills – English – verbal and written - average.
