Communications Manager - Content (PLMSP - Palladium)
Project Overview:
The Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) scheme is a signature initiative for the Australian Government that enables workers from 9 Pacific Island Countries (PICs) and Timor- Leste to work in priority sectors in Australia. The Pacific Labour Mobility Support Program’s (PLMSP) role is to provide the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and governments in 9 PICs and Timor-Leste with support to enable workers to access PALM scheme in inclusive ways that maximise the benefits for the workers and national economies while minimising risks from labour mobility participation. Palladium is contracted to deliver PLMSP on behalf of DFAT.
Role Overview:
For the PLMSP, communications are not only about informing various stakeholders and audiences, but also engaging them directly to promote the benefits and achievements of labour mobility and influencing perceptions within industries and the Australian public.
We will rely on the Communications Manager - Content creative flair and expertise for the quality, frequency and delivery of PLMSP’s communications activities with a range of stakeholders and audiences via a range of print, broadcast, digital and in-person formats. This position will have line management responsibilities and will provide training, mentoring and coaching to more junior colleagues, as well as upskilling staff and counterparts in content creation.
This is a fixed term opportunity required for 4 years with possibility of extension.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
The Communications Manager – Content will be responsible for:
1. Implementing the delivery of the PMSP’s overall Communications and Engagement strategies in collaboration with the Communications team and other teams within the PLMSP as required.
2. Managing the design and videography content gathering, creation and editing.
3. Managing social media channels (Facebook, YouTube).
4. Managing the Communications stream filing system including digital assets, approvals, consent and privacy forms and work in progress.
5. Engage and collaborate with the broader PLF team and identify opportunities to increase the impact of their activities though communication / marketing support.
Required Qualifications:
Successful candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:
6. Tertiary qualification in communications, design, digital marketing, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education in digital media including videography, design and social media.
7. Demonstrated understanding of regional business challenges and needs, and an understanding of political, cultural and communications environments in Australia, the Pacific and Timor-Leste.
8. Demonstrated digital content production skills, including video and static content for social media, websites and other media channels.
9. Experience communicating with a range of stakeholder groups, (., the Australian Government, private sector and the general public) and for a range of channels.
10. Personal initiative, creativity, and drive.
