Where you'll be workingThe Emergency X-Ray Department at Prince of Wales Hospital is open around the clock. It provides a challenging, intellectually stimulating and supportive environment. The Department is an innovative, dynamic and patient focused unit. It is located in the new Acute Services Building (ASB.)This is a full time or part time position. Shifts are 0000 (midnight) to 0830, 0800-1630, 1200-2030 and 1530 till 2400 (midnight.) You will be rotated through all these shifts over a 7-day roster including weekends.What You'll Be DoingThe successful applicant will primarily be responsible for assisting Radiographers in their duties between the Prince of Wales Adult Emergency Department and the Main Medical Imaging Department.You will provide support to the Medical Imaging team in the delivery of health care services to patients under the direct supervision of a Medical Imaging Professional and consistent with South Eastern Sydney Local Health District policies, procedures and standardsThis is a multi-skilled role involving cleaning, transporting patients, manual handling, assisting with transferring and lifting patients during radiology procedures including the use of mechanical aids, maintenance and cleaning of medical imaging equipment, data entry, and waste collection within the X-ray Department in Adult Emergency. The role involves the safe wearing of PPE in order to interact with patients who may be infectious, including with Covid.The AHA will also ensure the smooth operation of patient transport between the Medical Imaging rooms in Adult Emergency and the Main Medical Imaging Department and CT at the discretion of the Radiographers.The vision for South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) is ‘exceptional care, healthier lives’.
