How will I help?
At Westpac Group, the Consumer and Customer & Corporate Services Compliance team is responsible for ensuring that the bank complies with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies that govern its operations, particularly in relation to consumer and corporate services.
Westpac Group has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Manager to join their team in an 18-month contract position. The role involves providing compliance support to the Divisional Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) and the Heads of Compliance for the Consumer and CCS Divisions by addressing compliance matters and fostering a Best Practice approach to Compliance Management.
You will help by offering second-line compliance advice, oversight, and challenges at the divisional level, executing oversight activities to align with compliance policies and frameworks, and advising on divisional risk profiles and regulatory change management practices. The position also entails delivering key insights from compliance reporting, coordinating divisional working groups to promote knowledge sharing, and collaborating closely with second-line colleagues in the Divisional Chief Risk Officer (CRO) teams to optimise the operating practices of the Divisional CCO team.

What do I need?
To be successful in this role, you will ideally hold a Bachelor's degree and possess extensive experience in compliance risk management within large corporations or regulatory bodies, particularly in the retail banking sector. You will have a strong understanding of retail banking products and the financial services industry, along with knowledge of the relevant legal and regulatory environments. In addition, you will have a proven track record of managing key stakeholder relationships and can adapt to rapid digitisation and technological changes. Furthermore, you can navigate complexity and ambiguity within a large organisation to achieve optimal outcomes while demonstrating highly effective written communication skills.
