As a vital member of this multidisciplinary team, you will collaborate closely with diverse professionals to deliver trauma-informed clinical interventions and therapies. Your focus will be on addressing mental health challenges, child protection concerns, and AOD issues. This role offers a unique chance to make a meaningful impact on the lives of young people and their families by utilising the extensive resources and support available within the Whole Family Team.
About the role:
This position is based in the Newcastle region at the James Fletcher Hospital Campus, offering a unique opportunity to support families referred by the Department of Communities and Justice and/or the CAMHS service. You'll play a crucial role in delivering clinical interventions, with much of the work taking place directly in the family home, allowing for a deeper connection and impact. This dynamic role also includes some travel, providing a varied and engaging work environment as you bring vital support to families.
About you:
You are a dedicated and compassionate mental health clinician with a strong foundation in working with children, adolescents, and their families.
You have a deep understanding of trauma and its impact on young people, and you are skilled in delivering interventions that are sensitive to their experiences.
You are adept at managing and de-escalating crises, providing immediate support to young people and their families during challenging situations.

Requirements:
Must hold a qualification in one of the following: Occupational Therapy, Clinical Psychology/clinical psych in training, Nursing, Social Work, Counsellor (Degree in Bachelor of Health Science Mental health, Djirruwang Program) which provides eligibility or membership of the relevant professional association general registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. For a CNS2: relevant post-registration qualifications and at least 3 years experience working in the clinical area of a post-graduate qualification.
Eligibility to drive in NSW and interstate and the willingness to travel in the course of employment.

An eligibility list will be created for future temporary full or part time vacancies.
This is a full-time position, however part-time arrangements will be considered (minimum 0.8FTE).

This is a Level 3 position. However, if there are no appropriate Level 3 applicants, applications from Level 1 and 2 will be considered. The selection criteria reflects the requirements for a Level 3 applicant. Responses from Level 1 or 2 applicants need to demonstrate their level of competence with regard to the same criteria and their ability to work towards Level 3. The expected performance of the incumbent will be commensurate with his/her years of experience and current level at commencement of appointment. The incumbent will work towards meeting the criteria for Level 3.
