Are you interested in working for a deliberately different education system, with a focus on industry?
Then this could be the fresh start to 2025 you've been looking for!
The Industry School, formerly the AITC, is unlike any other senior school. We’re for young people who seek a deliberately different educational experience. An industry-driven one. For those who want to learn in the classroom, within workplaces, and on the job. We’re for those young people who seek to start building real-world strengths and skills now, not only in the future.
We provide a unique two-to-three-year program for young people in Years 10 to 12 designed to progressively develop employability skills and achieve individualized learning goals while meeting the requirements of the Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA) and the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA).
Our aim is to seamlessly blend senior education and vocational training to engage young people in purposeful learning experiences that are relevant to the real world of industry.
We are now seeking a Personal Industry Coach (Inclusive Education) to join our Sunshine Coast School in a full-time, term-time, contract capacity to the end of Term 4 2025
This role provides first-line coaching, mentoring, and support to our young people with additional learning needs such as ASD, ADHD, and those with mental health challenges. You will work closely with young people to help them live the Industry School values and effectively demonstrate the employability metrics. You will also assist Teachers and Industry Consultants with young people who may not be consistently demonstrating engagement in the education/industry program.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following :
* Coaching and mentoring young people in order to promote and create an environment of high expectations in terms of behaviours, attitudes, and performance.
* Reviewing progress against academic and personal targets on an individual basis in line with the employability metrics, and promoting the metrics through guidance and mentoring.
* Acting as the first point of contact for parents and young people reaching out with regard to ongoing behavioural, attendance or employability skills matters.
* Developing materials including interactive online resources and planning documentation.
Our values play a critical role in cultivating culture. They set the standards for how we behave, interact with others, make decisions, and choose to act. They are:
* Think progressively
* Take courageous action
* Achieve inspiring outcomes
* Demonstrate genuine care
* Contribute authentically
* Succeed collectively
Skills and experience
The following qualifications and experience are essential for this position:
* Qualification in coaching, career development or other relevant area of study.

* Ability to work sensitively with a variety of stakeholders.
* Demonstrate a high level of emotional intelligence and self-awareness.
* Current driver's licence.
* Hold (or be able to obtain prior to commencement) a current valid Working with Children Blue Card.
Desirable:
* Experience working with TASS or another school management system
We value and recognise our people through a range of benefits including superannuation matching after a qualifying period, access to corporate rate health insurance, salary packaging, staff discounts through PerkBox, Employee Assistance Programs, Professional Development, and the opportunity to participate in community-based activities in Australia and Cambodia to name a few.
