What will your role be?
The Tours and Retail Coordinator is responsible for the daily frontline operations of the Visitor Experience, including managing tours and the retail store. This role ensures high standards of service, visitor satisfaction, and operational efficiency at the Brand Home Visitor Experience. The Coordinator manages the rostering and performance of the tours and retail staff, as well as ensuring sufficient casual labour is available to staff the Visitor Experience Operation.
The Tours and Retail Coordinator is responsible for managing the rosters of both permanent and casual hire staff in line with operational and budgetary constraints. They will supply daily operational reports as required by the Visitor Experience Manager, contributing to the overall financial efficiency and performance of the Visitor Experience Centre.
The Tours and Retail Coordinator will oversee 7 direct reports, consisting of tour guides and retail staff. Additionally, they will manage the rostering of labour hire staff to cover any shortfall in permanent staff. The position reports directly to the Visitor Experience Manager. Leadership responsibilities include effective allocation of work, supervision, and support, coaching and development of team members in the Tours and Retail areas.
What does this role look like for you?
· Assist the Visitor Experience Manager in coordinating the daily schedules and activities of the tours and retail staff.
· Ensure smooth and timely operation of all tours and retail activities.
· Provide logistical support for tours, including preparing materials and ensuring guides are trained and have necessary resources.
· Maintain organization and on-floor inventory of the retail store.
· Serve as a point of contact between the Visitor Experience Manager and tours and retail staff, ensuring clear communication of updates, changes, and important information.
· Handle customer enquiries and feedback, escalating issues to the Visitor Experience Manager when necessary.
· Assist in resolving customer complaints and ensuring a positive visitor experience.
· Help with administrative duties, such as scheduling for tours and retail staff, maintaining records, and preparing reports.
· Support training and development of new and existing staff.
· Collaborate with the maintenance department to ensure all Visitor Centre plant and equipment is operating effectively and any issues are resolved in a timely manner.
What will you bring to the table?
1. Extensive experience in a tours or retail role, with 3-5 years of relevant experience preferred.
2. Skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word are favourable.
3. Experience with cash handling, point-of-sale systems, and financial reporting.
4. Proven ability to manage and coordinate staff rosters efficiently.
5. Strong customer service skills and the ability to handle customer complaints effectively.
6. Excellent communication and organizational skills.
7. Ability to work safely in a hazardous goods environment, ensuring the safety of visitors and staff.
8. Willingness to work weekends, school holidays, and public holidays as required by operational needs.
