About the team:
Situated with the Planning and Regulation department, the City Planning branch is responsible for long term planning and policy development to manage growth and development of our city while protecting and conserving our natural resources and heritage. The Strategic Infrastructure business unit is responsible for the coordination of planning and funding the city’s trunk infrastructure and coordinating the Local Government Infrastructure Program (LGIP) process with network owners.
About your new role:
The Senior Infrastructure Planner is responsible for assisting with the modelling in support of the Local Government Infrastructure Plan (LGIP) and various projects, as well as developing and maintaining aspects of the Planning and Urban Growth (PUG) model. The Senior Infrastructure Planner will be working to enhance local government infrastructure planning and the processes, policies and legislation associated with trunk infrastructure.
If you are interested in working collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary, dynamic team you should apply. You will work alongside professionals with specialised skills in both policy and research and will contribute to exciting projects, urban analytics, strategic thinking and financial sustainability. Skills in GIS, urban analytics, urban planning and infrastructure planning are highly regarded and relevant to this role.
Position responsibilities:
* Assist with development of LGIP future growth scenarios including urban growth modelling, mapping and analysis.
* Assist with coordination between infrastructure networks, bringing the plan together by working with a variety of stakeholders.
* Be part of key projects relating to the use of Strategic Infrastructure’s PUG model, including draft land use planning, light rail and other planning scenarios.
We're looking for people who have:
* Bachelor’s degree Regional and Town Planning or equivalent knowledge.
* Ideally have infrastructure or land use planning experience in the development industry or Local and/or State Government.
* Ability to perform effectively in a team environment and foster good relationships as part of a high-performing team.
* Ability to prioritise problems, think laterally, gather and analyse information to identify symptoms and causes, and engage the right people to reach better outcomes.
* Naturally innovative and willing to strive for improvement in the use of technology solutions.
* A demonstrated commitment to safety from both a professional and personal perspective
