The RSP modelling team is looking for talented Senior Modellers to join our growing team for photo-realistic feature film work. Employment period: 3 - 4 month contract. Location: Adelaide, Australia. This position is open to Australians and those with the right to work in Australia Position Overview Successful candidates will have a demo reel that demonstrates both a solid artistic eye for detail, and a sound technical ability of all disciplines required to create amazing assets for feature film. This includes examples of clean high quality production ready models, ideally of photo real objects with wireframe examples. You should be able to organise yourself and deliver hardsurface models, large scale environments, digital doubles, vehicles and props. You will also have a good understanding of current industry workflow and techniques including a good understanding of uv space and udims. Experience or knowledge of Houdini procedural modelling an advantage, but not essential. Python coding is also an advantage. You should have a good understanding of up and down stream department needs and how your work will contribute to the finished shot. Responsibilities Create and deliver organic and hard surface models that meet each creative and technical brief. Create UVs for all your assets that meet the standard of the Look Development and Texture department. Work with other department such as Rigging, Look Development and Effects independently as required. Re-topologise lidar scans and or hi-res models provided by other vendors if required. Work from concept artwork or photographic images. Present your work for internal reviews after ensuring it hits creative and technical notes. Promote a collaborative and enjoyable workplace influencing morale, fostering purposeful discussion and positive work ethic. Required Skills and Experience 5-7 years professional experience in the areas of model asset creation. Will consider outstanding talent and up and comers. Expert user of production ready software including Maya, Mudbox, Z-Brush, UV layout, Zwrap, Speedtree and Mari / Substance painter. Knowledge of how and when their use will increase the quality of your work Good fundamentals of clean topology. Able to create models with Sub-D and boolean approach. Ability to create clean, precise UVs while being able to work with UDIM approach. Ability to ingest character scans by conforming in-house character models to the scans. Strong understanding of human anatomy and creature anatomy. Ability to understand, work with FACS data and generating blend shapes based of scans / expressions for machine learning. Texturing experience is a plus. Houdini procedural modelling knowledge is a plus. An Artistic background in drawing, painting etc is a plus. Working knowledge of working in a Linux system environment. Real world understanding of proportion, depth, scale, and physical space. Expert organisational skills. Maintain a calm and professional demeanour in a deadline focused work environment. Visual Effects, Fine Art, Computer Science, Physics or Mathematics or related tertiary qualification may be required for international applicants.
