Job Description
We are seeking a journalist for our WIN News service based in Rockhampton. This role offers a unique opportunity to take ownership of your market and report on a wide range of topics, including the environment, sport, politics, and more.
As a journalist with the WIN Network, you will be responsible for researching, compiling, and producing high-quality news stories for our weekday news bulletins. You will work closely with editors and camera operators to ensure that our bulletins meet deadline and are of the highest standards.
Responsibilities
* Research and compile news stories for weekday news bulletins
* Liaise with editors and camera operators to ensure high-quality content
* Meet deadlines through effective time management
* Work as part of a team to contribute positively to working relationships
* Identify story opportunities and operate with initiative and flexibility
* Have a positive work ethic and willingness to learn new systems and processes
Requirements
* University qualification in journalism
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Demonstrated understanding of how to compile a ratings-winning bulletin
* Knowledge of local, national, and international news stories affecting the community
* Understanding and working knowledge of media law
* Accuracy and excellent attention to detail
