This role involves providing expert financial advice and reporting to ensure the effective management of budgets, performance, and financial forecasts. As a key member of the finance team, you will assist in delivering critical financial insights to drive strategic decision-making.Key Accountabilities:Monitor Expenditure and Revenue: Regularly assess expenditure and revenue, tracking performance against budgets and strategic plans, and providing recommendations for corrective actions where needed.Financial Performance Reporting: Prepare and present timely financial performance reports, ensuring key data and insights are available for senior management, the Finance and Investment Committee, and the Secretary's Board.Dashboard Development: Design and implement financial dashboards that support decision-making within various branches and groups.Data Management and Analysis: Respond to financial inquiries, utilizing SAP, Excel, Power BI, and other tools to provide detailed and accurate reporting and analysis.Ad-hoc Financial Analysis: Conduct detailed ad-hoc financial analysis, including costings, forecasting, and budget allocations, to identify areas for improvement and optimize resource use.Budget and Forecast Preparation: Assist in the preparation and update of departmental budgets and forecasts, providing robust reviews and ensuring deadlines are met.Key Knowledge and Experience:5-10 years of experience in the development of budgets, forecasting, and financial planning, particularly in large organisations.NSW government experience is very advantageous.Expertise in financial and performance management reporting, utilizing tools such as Power BI or similar management analytics tools.Proven ability to drive business analytics through automation and continuous process improvement in a dynamic, high-volume environment.Strong proficiency in SAP is essential for this role.Demonstrated ability to provide strategic financial advice and insights to senior management.Essential Requirements:Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent, along with substantial professional experience and training.Membership of a professional accounting body (e.g., CPA, CA) is highly desirable.Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander candidates strongly encouraged to apply.Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.Applications received after the due date may be considered for similar roles.
