We are looking for a Structural Engineer to join the Construction Engineering team in the Brisbane office!
The ideal candidate for this role will have previous experience in structural engineering, either in construction engineering, mining/heavy industrial or commercial construction. Previous exposure to major developments in a multi-disciplinary team is desired.
Your Main Responsibilities
* Apply a deep understanding of engineering principles to current projects
* Use knowledge and initiative to devise and implement new approaches to complex engineering problems
* Contributes to project planning and ensures projects are delivered within program and budget
* Produce designs, documentation, specifications, fee proposals, reports, and other documentation to meet client requirements for projects of reasonable complexity under the guidance of senior staff
* Liaise and coordinate with builders, architects, and services engineers on design issues
* Ensure compliance with applicable Codes and policies – e.g., WHS practices and Quality Assurance
* Developing the ability to plan and manage resources for small projects or sections of larger projects including taking responsibility for results and outcomes and adherence to project schedules/timelines
About You
* An Australian tertiary engineering qualification or equivalent;
* Strong structural background with experience in a similar role working on infrastructure or building projects;
* Experience in undertaking site inspections and liaising with site staff;
* Understanding of formwork and scaffolding system and equipment installation is desired;
* Experience in preparing preliminary and detailed designs, specifications and other documentation for structural engineering project work;
* The ability to communicate well with senior management, authorities and clients;
* The ability to manage the workload of multiple projects;
* Experience in using analysis software.
