Our training is delivered to students and apprentices on-site, online, in the workplace, or on-campus to give people the skills they need to enrich their communities, support their industries, and strengthen their local economies.By working at TAFE Queensland, you can be part of a highly experienced workforce closely connected with their industries and dedicated to delivering best practices and innovative training.As the Director of Assets, Facilities and Safety, you will:Provide strategic leadership across infrastructure projects, facility operations and workplace health and safety services.Lead the provision of operational Infrastructure services including assets and property management, logistics, fleet, supply, operations and print services across TAFE Queensland East Coast Region.Lead the provision of operational Workplace Health and Safety Services to TAFE Queensland East Coast Region.Ensure TAFE Queensland East Coast Region has the appropriate infrastructure to support the Education and Training of students across diverse communities.Provide a healthy and safe environment to all students, staff, contractors and visitors across all delivery sites.This position directly reports to the General Manager, East Coast.This is a Permanent, Full-Time opportunity, unless otherwise determined.The position will be based across East Coast Region campuses.The salary listed is the Total Remuneration Package (TRP) which includes superannuation and annual leave loading.Key ResponsibilitiesEnsure focus on Workplace Health and Safety is maintained through being an advocate within the region, promoting a culture of ‘Safety First’.Provide specialist advice and act as Senior Leadership representative on strategic matters relating to the portfolio ensuring adherence to legislative, policy and procedural requirements.Represent the region regarding portfolio requirements at external and internal stakeholder discussions to seek to inform and influence outcomes and progress strategic requirements.Manage strategic alliances internally within TAFE Queensland and externally to leverage skills and expertise to enhance processes, systems and build strong links in areas of expertise.Lead a team of staff across the region to effect performance improvements, meet key performance indicators and ensure successful delivery of strategies pertaining to the portfolio.Review, analyse, recommend and implement resource allocations and budget requirements for the execution of the approved operating budget.Oversee and lead the development, implementation and evaluation of the effectiveness of initiatives in portfolio areas, including but not limited to Workplace Health and Safety, Facilities and capital investment, providing a suite of reports to the Senior Leadership team as required.Lead the strategic identification of innovative, evidence-based programs and interventions that support portfolio areas that adhere to legislative requirements (where applicable).Lead and directly engage in the development and maintenance of effective relationships with service providers and stakeholders to ensure successful training outcomes and related services.Ensure that staff responsible for functions receive the required training, formal and informal, to utilise customised software systems (i.e. asset information management system/s; fleet management system/s etc.) to support the completion of responsibilities.Contribute to the success of transformation and cultural change through promoting and modelling the values of Safety First, Working Together, Focusing on our Customer, Taking Responsibility and Showing Initiative.How you will be assessedThe ideal applicant will be someone who has the following key capabilities:Lead strategically to ensure your own and the contribution of the team contributes to the vision and values of the organisation.Have extensive experience managing complex projects or work-related activities across the organisation at a local or state level.Provide evidence of the development and management of portfolio related objectives and managing the changing demands and expectations of a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.Build and sustain relationships to enable the collaborative delivery of customer-focused outcomes including the implementation of reporting mechanisms.Have extensive experience in the provision of strategic Workplace Health and Safety services to a large organisation with demonstrable examples of improvements in policies and practices.Highly Desirable RequirementsExperience in strategic Infrastructure and Workplace Health and Safety.How to applyIf you’re interested in this role, click the ‘Apply’ button to submit your application via the TAFE Queensland Recruitment Portal.
