Role Physical Education Teacher The classroom teacher classification comprises two salary ranges- range 1 and range 2. The primary focus of the classroom teacher is on the planning, preparation and teaching of programs to achieve specific student outcomes. The classroom teacher engages in critical reflection and inquiry in order to improve knowledge and skills to effectively engage students and improve their learning. As the classroom teacher gains experience his or her contribution to the school program beyond the classroom increases. All classroom teachers may be required to undertake other duties in addition to their rostered teaching duties provided the responsibility is appropriate to the salary range, qualifications, training and experience of the teacher. Strength and Conditioning Coach An opportunity exists for an enthusiastic strength and conditioning coach to become involved with the Red Cliffs Secondary College Sports Academy programs. The primary focus of the role is to coach student athletes across numerous sports, from ages 12 to 18 in an athletic development setting. Responsibilities Physical Education Teacher Core responsibilities include:- Planning and implementing a range of teaching programs or courses of study. Teaching an area of the curriculum or a general curriculum to a year level. Monitoring, evaluating and reporting student progress in key learning areas. Implementing strategies to achieve targets related to student learning outcomes. Maintaining records of class attendance and recording student progress. Implementing effective student management consistent with the school charter. Strength and Conditioning Coach Coaching, mentoring, inspiring and guiding student athletes through their development program. Creating developmentally appropriate strength and conditioning programs for student athletes across various ages. Managing attendance records and ensuring accurate collection of daily attendance figures. This opportunity would suit a motivated individual with career aspirations in the strength and conditioning or sports science field. Requirements Level 1 ASCA (Australian Strength and Conditioning Association) Coaching Accreditation. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated coaching experience with secondary school students. Ability to act as a role model for young athletes.
