Aboriginal applicants will be granted priority consideration for this vacancy.Primary objective: The Executive Assistant is responsible for providing high level administrative support to the Assistant Commissioner, ensuring all administrative duties are undertaken in a timely and professional manner.Key duties and responsibilitiesEnsure a professional and efficient approach to the management of services to Executive at all times.Provide secretarial and administrative support to the Assistant Commissioner, including quality control of a variety of correspondence (often confidential and sensitive), maintaining records, initiating follow up action to ensure that deadlines are met, drafting correspondence, filing, screening telephone calls and visitors, scheduling appointments and meetings, preparing and distributing publications, and making travel arrangements.Carry out projects, research issues and provide other assistance to Executive as required.Organise conferences and meetings, including coordination and preparation of relevant papers, materials, minutes, transcribing, audio visual requirements and catering.Selection criteriaEssentialProven effective administrative and secretarial skills at the executive level, including the ability to discern sensitive matters, and respect and adhere to the requirements of confidentiality, impartiality and integrity.Demonstrated high level interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, including with Executive staff.Proven ability to participate as part of a team and to work cooperatively with senior management, staff members and peers in achieving divisional objectives.Demonstrated organisational skills of a high order, including an ability to work under pressure and complete tasks within required time frames, work independently and flexibly, be self-motivated, exercise initiative and attend to detail.Experience in office procedures and systems including relevant experience in word processing/database/spreadsheet and computer systems pertaining to the position with a high standard of keyboard/typing skills and proficiency in the use of a Dictaphone and transcription.DesirableExperience with standard format of correspondence i.e., letters, Ministerial, Cabinet Submissions.Experience with Content Manager (TRM) and Travel Request Information Processing System (TRIPS) or similar systems.NT Drivers Licence is preferred but not essential.The successful applicant must consent to a check by Police of criminal records and intelligence data to confirm they have no significant criminal history record.#J-18808-Ljbffr
