About the role
In this role you will support the leadership team to implement OIR's digital communication strategy by developing, implementing and evaluating digital and social media strategies that raise awareness of work health and safety, electrical safety, workers' compensation and industrial relations issues. Working collaboratively with the team, you will also provide best practice digital communication guidance to OIR managers and employees, as you work to develop, implement, monitor and evaluate digital communication tools to support communication plans and campaigns. You will also assist with developing high quality digital media assets and tactics to support our strategy and deliver outputs.
Key responsibilities and capabilities
• Lead the development, implementation and evaluation of digital education, awareness and engagement strategies and resources that target OIR and whole-ofgovernment priorities.
• Support the leadership team in developing, delivering and reviewing OIR's digital communication and media strategy.
• Plan and organise proactive and reactive digital campaigns and media releases, ensuring timely management and resolution of enquires.
• Create and/or commission high quality, engaging multi-format digital content to deliver innovative strategies which grow our audiences and raise awareness of work health and safety, electrical safety, workers' compensation and industrial relations issues.
• Support the leadership team to develop, deliver and review OIR's digital communication and media strategy.
• Develop and maintain working relationships with colleagues to deliver digital and media services for OIR business units in a timely manner.
• Provide expert and timely advice to the Manager on project progress, metrics and issues that may impact on service delivery, and new and emerging digital and media strategies that have the potential to enhance engagement with OIR's stakeholders.
• Generate active engagement in key initiatives through clear, enthusiastic and compelling communication.
• Deliver clear, concise and compelling messages, tailored to the audience and delivered using a variety of communication channels.
• Understand stakeholder expectations and negotiate with clear understanding of the issues to ensure customer-focused outcomes.
• Apply knowledge of digital and media communication practices and technologies and platforms to analyse data and publish education, awareness and engagement strategies that support and promote organisational and business goals.
• Ability to demonstrate technical capability in back end social media platforms (i.e., ability to conduct paid advertising campaigns/remarketing/digital targeting) to drive campaign goals and monitor and measure their effectiveness. Be able to provide constructive advice throughout the campaign life cycle.
• Identify and test new channels and tactics that grow audiences, monitor and report on effectiveness and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Assist in the development, implementation and evaluation of media strategies and resources targeting OIR and whole-of-government priorities.
