About the Role
This is a Permanent Full Time or Part Time position from 80 to 64 hours per fortnight within the Kookaburra, Cancer Care Ward.
We are looking for Registered Nurses that are interested in developing paediatric oncology nursing knowledge and skills to support the provision of paediatric oncology care at The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH). This is a great opportunity for Registered Nurses wanting to transition into a paediatric speciality nursing environment. There are several career pathways for Registered Nurses working in the Kookaburra ward, these include training and support to progress to chemotherapy accrediation and delivery of care to patients recieving Bone Marrow Transplantation. You will be provided with ongoing professional support and development from an experienced and dedicated Nursing, Medical and Multidisipinary team.
Classification for this position will range from YP3 - YP9, Grade 2 Year 2 to Grade 2 Year 8 (FTE base salary $71,333 to $95,378 per annum, plus superannuation).

Your skills and experience:
9. Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) administered though the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA)
10. Demonstrated commitment to ongoing personal and professional development, as evidenced in a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) record/Profession al practice Portfolio (PPP)
11. Recent acute nursing experience is required, oncology experience is highly desirable

About Kookaburra, Cancer Care ward
Kookaburra – Cancer Care Ward is part of The RCH Children's Cancer Centre (CCC), the largest partner in the Victorian Paediatric Integrated Cancer Services (PICS), and the only provider of complex children's cancer care and stem cell transplantation in Victoria. The team of specialist medical, nursing, research and allied health professionals provide care and services to meet the clinical, physical, social and psychological needs of patients and parents. Their multidisciplinary approach aims to maximise quality of life outcomes associated with cancer treatments and long-term survivorship.
The Kookaburra team includes: paediatric medical oncologists, specialty nursing staff, mental health clinicians, social workers, oncology pharmacists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and other Allied Health professionals including art, music and play therapists.
