The Team: The Glenorchy Continuing Care Team is a small and friendly multidisciplinary team consisting of psychiatrists, psychiatric registrars, nurses, allied health and lived experience workers. We cover a large catchment area from the Central highlands, Derwent Valley, Brighton municipality and the City of Glenorchy.

The Role:
The Registered Nurse - Community Mental Health:
* Strengthens health outcomes through the provision of safe quality, clinically appropriate nursing care in partnership with patients/clients, their families, and other health professionals and community sector organisations.
* As part of a multidisciplinary team, delivers high quality mental health services, providing a specialist mental health service within the community setting for a designated client group.
* In collaboration with members of the healthcare team, plans, implements, and evaluates patient/client care.
* Practices in accordance with the Australia Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) codes and guidelines for registered nurses and midwives.
* Acts as a Mental Health Officer when required.
You will need:
* Current knowledge of, and the ability to apply nursing principles, procedures and practices in the delivery of patient/client care in a designated practice area.
* Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in mental health nursing including assertive case management, triage, holistic physical and mental health assessment, clinical risk management, and crisis intervention.
* Demonstrated written, oral and interpersonal communication skills including the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
Details of appointment:
Fixed term full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for a period of approximately ten (10) months.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $78,179 to $105,995 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
Access to the Grade 4 salary range $99,455- $105,995 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
* Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qualification type.

Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
Current Driver’s Licence.
Desirable criteria:
* Possess specialist tertiary graduate or postgraduate mental health/psychiatric nursing qualification.
