Senior Human Resource Advisor (Employee Relations) In the role of Senior HR Advisor (Employee Relations), your key accountability will include: Provide strategic, tactical, and operational advice and coaching to managers, supervisors, local HR teams, and decision-makers on a diverse range of contemporary ER issues, including human resources policy matters, organisational change, discipline, performance management, employee grievances, independent medical examinations, and industrial relations. Represent the department before external tribunals including the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission. Prepare high-level correspondence including submissions, briefing notes, ministerial responses, and information papers relating to ER issues. Deliver industrial relations consultancy services, especially in relation to the interpretation and application of relevant certified agreements, awards, legislation, and directives. Represent the department in the negotiation of enterprise bargaining agreements and coordinate related activities, including liaison with central agencies and consultation with staff. Represent the department in liaison with key stakeholders, including central agencies, and establish and maintain effective working relationships across the department and with other government agencies, to encourage partnerships, sharing of concepts and information, and IR initiatives. Coordinate the review of policies and procedures within the TMR HR policy framework to support the efficient, effective, and responsible management of human resources across the department, and develop new policies and procedures that drive and support the strategic direction of the department. Engage in negotiations with employee organisations in relation to specific ER and human resource issues. Mediate and liaise with employee organisations on day-to-day issues that affect the department and its employees. Mandatory qualifications and conditions: Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role. It is a condition of employment for recommended appointee/s to disclose any previous serious discipline action taken against them for consideration by the delegate prior to any appointment. The possession of relevant tertiary qualifications in industrial relations, law, human resources, or a related field will be well regarded. Membership and/or certification with the Australian Human Resources Institute/Queensland Industrial Relations Society would be well regarded.
