This is a part-time fixed term role for 22.8 hours a week, ending 30 June 2025.
Annual salary is pro-rated.
The Role We are seeking an experienced Social Media Officer to maintain our website and develop and implement a calendar of social media posts and activities that are engaging and drive growth in our followers.
You have a strong background in communications and marketing.
You have a demonstrated track record in working with a range of social media sites and developing assets that attract a strong following by key stakeholders.
You have excellent written and oral communication skills and are skilled at adapting these to meet the needs of your audiences.
You thrive on working in a team environment and building collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive measurable results.
The core responsibilities of this role are: Oversee all activities across our social platforms including Linked In, Instagram, Facebook, and our website.
Plan, create, schedule, and execute captivating content that aligns with our brand vision and guidelines to ensure consistent, timely, and engaging posts that keep our stakeholders excited and involved.
Manage, plan, and develop concepts for 'live' videos to engage with our stakeholders and build genuine interaction.
Connect with followers by moderating and responding to comments and fostering a loyal, engaged community that reflects our brand values.
Track performance metrics to refine content strategies, enhance engagement, and drive growth using insights and analytics tools.
Identify new opportunities to distribute content to continually enhance communication and marketing strategies.
Research best practices in not-for-profit social media and identify opportunities to apply new technologies and processes that increase visibility and maximize engagement with target audiences.
Liaise with the Yilabara team to develop trusted relationships and knowledge of Yilabara programs.
Maintain the Social Media Register recording all relevant details including approvals.
Knowledge and awareness of the cultural practices, values, and issues that affect Aboriginal people in today's society.
Demonstrated experience in social media communication and/or digital marketing including creating innovative static and video content that resonates with brand tone and diverse audiences.
Demonstrated written and oral communication, editing, and storytelling skills with a keen eye for detail.
Working knowledge of digital media, web content, storyboarding, and content production.
Demonstrated understanding of and experience in social media metrics and how to turn data into actionable insights.
Strong interpersonal and written communication skills including the capacity to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders and communicate professionally at all levels.
Demonstrated ability to manage competing demands, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
Ability to work independently and as a member of a high performing team.
Valid National Police and Working With Children Check (WWCC).
Current Driver Licence (P2).
