About the Opportunity:
This role is part of the Utilities Department and involves leading the Utilities treatment team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operational and maintenance delivery to ensure high standards of performance, safety, environmental, and customer service are met for water, wastewater, and gas services across the Western Downs.
This position can be based at any of our major regional centers (Dalby/Chinchilla/Tara/Miles and Wandoan).
Key Responsibilities:
* Uphold Safety First Culture in all workplace activities.
* Lead in the development, implementation, and continual improvement of operational, safety, and emergency response procedures, processes, and systems for gas, water, and sewerage schemes.
* Identify and manage risks associated with maintaining continuous Utilities treatment operations, implementing mitigation strategies as needed.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, regulations, and standards in the water and sewerage sectors.
About You:
A person in this position will need to hold a relevant Diploma in Water Industry Operations or a Diploma in a related field, or demonstrate equivalent related experience.
Desirable qualifications include:
* In-depth understanding of the water industry as it relates to standards, operations, maintenance, and risk mitigation with a focus on water, wastewater, and gas network services.
* Proficiency in using relevant software and technology for utilities management, data analysis, and reporting.
* Knowledge of emergency response protocols and experience in managing incidents.
* WH&S Construction Safety Induction White Card.
* Open C Class Driver's Licence.
