Who are we looking for?
We're looking for a Technical Director - Generator Connections to join our Generator Connection Studies Team within the Regulation & Assurance Business Group. This role can be located in either Brisbane, Perth, Melbourne or Sydney.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
1. Directly influence the commercial performance of the team by working to ensure assignments are adequately scoped and priced, scope and quality is appropriately managed during the delivery phase and where necessary variations are sought from our clients.
2. Support the development of the generator connection studies business, with a priority focus on the power sector in Australia and New Zealand.
3. Providing technical leadership and coaching to develop team members focused on generator connections and power systems
4. Generating reports for Clients, Network Companies and the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO)
5. Working as a part of multidisciplinary teams to deliver 'future energy' solutions
6. Work with our international and inter-state branches to deliver a wide range of renewable energy projects.
What you will bring to the team?
7. Relevant qualifications and a good academic record in electrical engineering
8. Significant experience in generator connections and power system analysis, preferably gained in Australia
9. A desire to mentor and support our junior engineers
10. Ability to work independently on challenging large-scale projects and consistent record of successful project delivery
11. Power systems software expertise including PSS/E, PSCAD, PowerFactory and MATLAB
12. Advanced programming skills in Fortran and Python
13. Experience in grid forming and virtual grid technologies
14. Experience and demonstrated knowledge of Australian National Electricity Rules and International Standards
15. Experience in load flow, short circuit analysis, dynamic studies and EMTP simulations
16. Understanding of the generator connection process in the NEM.
17. Effective communication skills to liaise with clients.
