Student Support Services assist children and young people facing a range of barriers achieve their educational and developmental potential. As an SSS Clinician, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary Area-based team to build the capabilities of schools to support children and young people to engage in their education. The multidisciplinary Area-based teams consist of a broad range of Allied Health professionals including psychologists, speech pathologists, and/or social workers. SSS Clinicians provide comprehensive services to schools and school-aged students to enhance developmental and learning outcomes, and support student health and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Expert advice: Provide advice that influences the development of teaching and learning strategies and student wellbeing programs for school leadership teams.
2. Communication: Utilize highly developed communication, networking, and interpersonal skills to liaise with a range of people in the education community and beyond.
3. Flexibility: Work as part of a multidisciplinary team and autonomously when required.
4. Expert interventions and collaboration: Undertake advanced interventions that support students and schools and work collaboratively with other professionals on complex cases.
Qualifications:
We can consider applicants from the below disciplines:
* Psychologist: A graduate or post-graduate qualification in psychology and full Registration as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
* Speech Pathologist: A graduate or post-graduate degree in speech pathology and eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia.
* Social Worker: A graduate or post-graduate degree in social work or equivalent and eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
Job Location: This position is based in the Hume Merri-bek Area. There is a requirement to travel and visit schools as part of service delivery. SSS staff have access to departmental fleet vehicles.
