Responsibilities
of the role include:
1. Develop, maintain andmunicate high level plans for investing in the IT environment/ infrastructure, for allocated portfolio to ensure effective architecture strategy is developed and maintained
2. Manage architecture development andernance processes for allocated portfolio to promote effectiveernance and solution quality within architecture
3. Apply Design Thinking principles such as customer empathy, creative collaboration and test & learn ensuring solutions address customer needs and are viable and feasible for the business
4. Lead the development of solutions for allocated portfolio to ensure effective solutions are designed in accordance with business requirements, Westpac Group standards and IT Strategy
5. Build and apply knowledge of emerging technologies and take a continuous improvement approach to ensure Westpac remains innovative and up to date with market leading technologies and industry trends

What do I need?
6. Significant experience in solutions architecture in IT Industry/financial services or business consulting/strategic planning
7. Ability to translate business needs into enterprise architecture requirements
8. Experience across multiple architecture domains, including the implementation of architecture in large organisations required to ensure balanced solutions
9. Understanding of cloud native application characteristics, and how architectures can deliver them, and demonstrable knowledge of Integration Design (real-time and batch)
10. Experience in solutioning and implementing the modern technologies ( eg ambient intelligent, business workflow, intelligent document processing and open banking) for industry leading banking sector in the areas of origination, fulfilment, product servicing and fraud/scam operations - desirable
11. Strong knowledge of Enterprise Architect disciplines and frameworks ( TOGAF).
12. Experience in streaming and eventing architecture, Lambda and Kappa architecture, and associated tools KAFKA, Azure event hub, alongside relational / No SQL Databases
13. Ability to balance the long-term ("big picture") and short-term implications of individual decisions
14. Applied knowledge of financial models and budgeting
