Our increasing client base and service offering means that 2025 will see another exciting phase of growth for our business. To support this drive, we are seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to join our established team in-house. This newly created role for Australia will contribute expert skills and experience to a range of exciting business projects on a national and international scale across the energy sector. The successful candidate will be a valuable part of our operations across Australia, New Zealand and Singapore.
Key Responsibilities: Provide expert legal counsel across the full spectrum of business activities, with a particular focus on contract review, compliance, and legal support within energy and electrical engineering arenas. Collaborate with management and other key stakeholders to guide decision-making and mitigate legal risks. This role will be looked to as a specialist in their field. Ensure adherence to laws, regulations, and industry standards, providing proactive advice to drive best commercial practices. Navigate a steady-paced work environment while delivering clear, concise, and actionable legal advice to senior leaders and key teams across our business. Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with external parties, ensuring compliance with company standards and legal requirements. Manage and resolve legal matters as they arise, supporting the business to maintain strong client relationships whilst minimizing legal risk and delivering on commercial objectives. What We're Looking For: A qualified lawyer with experience in an in-house role, preferably within the consulting sector. Experience in the energy space will be highly regarded. We are open to candidates from a paralegal background should the occupant have strong transferable skills. Strong background in contract law, compliance matters, and general legal advisory. A proactive, agile approach to working in a dynamic, steady-paced environment. Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex legal issues and engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels. The ability to work independently, while also being a team player, and consistently demonstrate sound judgment and discretion. Why Join Us?
