Ideally, this role will be based at Akaysha's Head Office in Melbourne, Cremorne. We'd also consider our Brisbane or Sydney offices as alternate locations.
Reporting to: General Manager, Delivery
The role: You will contribute to Akaysha Energy as a senior member of the team responsible for the overall accountability for the delivery of Akaysha Energy Projects. Successful candidates will work in a dynamic, intellectually stimulating, and demanding yet supportive environment. They will enjoy autonomy, the opportunity to substantially influence major decisions in the energy sector, and develop Akaysha Energy into one of APAC's leading energy technology-based independent power producer (IPP) firms and have a material impact on accelerating the energy transition.
Key responsibilities will include: Lead by example in the application of the highest WHSE culture, both personally and in all Akaysha projects and activities.Assist in recruitment and selection of project staff and project level management of a multi-discipline project team including ongoing support and training.Assist in negotiating key EPC contracts and provide input to OEM supplier and other key contracts.Responsible for day-to-day managing project agreements - SFA, PPA, EPC, Suppliers, Grid Connection, Land Owner, and other agreements.Responsibility for the project cost & schedule.Coordination of project workstreams involving other pillars teams within the business required for safe and successful project delivery.Develop project management and execution plans for the development phase of Projects including comprehensive schedules, risk registers, and supporting key documentation.Prepare and present project reports on project safety, progress, cost, and other key metrics to both internal and external stakeholders.Ensure all planning permits and conditions of approval are managed and satisfied.Play a key role in external stakeholder management and working with the local community.Actively participate in Scope of Works and Contractor Risk Assessment reviews to help identify errors and develop corrective measures.What you'll bring: Minimum 10 years' experience working in a similar position in the energy sector.Renewables construction experience will be regarded highly but not essential – our ideal candidate will have project management experience with an EPC.Managed teams in a major project environment.Management and reporting of budgetary requirements.Management of complex infrastructure contracts.Negotiation with major stakeholders.Experience in a high-pressure environment.Strong analytical ability.Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.Please be aware you must be an Australian citizen, hold permanent residency status, or have existing AU working rights to apply for this role.
