The Opportunity
Child protection work is challenging, rewarding and fulfilling.
As a Team Leader Child Protection you will be responsible for managing a District team and responding to concerns regarding the safety and wellbeing of children, supervising team members in case work matters and services, convening and chairing planning forums for children and managing team resources. Where necessary the Team Leader may be required to undertake complex case work activities.
The majority of clients (children, families and carers) you will work with in this role are of Aboriginal and culturally and linguistically diverse descent. As a Team Leader, you will need to be able to demonstrate your awareness of this and your ability to work sensitively and respectfully with the Aboriginal Community.
An ideal candidate for this role will be able to demonstrate:
1. assessment, analytical and intervention skills in Child Protection
2. management, supervisory and leadership skills in Child Protection practice
3. the ability to undertake case work of a more complex nature.
As a frontline child protection related role, this position is eligible for the Regional Attraction and Retention Incentive (RARI) Scheme. If you are appointed from this recruitment process during the effective RARI timeframe, you may be eligible for payments in addition to existing employment entitlements.
