Our Defence team
We are focused on leveraging Telstra expertise to deliver secure, standalone connectivity solutions for our Enterprise and Government Defence customers.
Candidates must be Australian Citizens and have current Baseline clearance minimum to be considered. This role will eventually require you to hold and maintain an Australian Government NV2 security clearance.
Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Security Engineer Lead, you will lead the team that operates and manages over 14 different platforms across 5 independent environments (1 x dev, 2 x test and 2 x production). As well as keeping this tooling running in support of our internal staff (security analysts, automation, monitoring and control, network operations, and data centre teams), the team will also be delivering new initiatives for our customer.
As well as delivering platforms we also support a SIEM and work closely with the security operations team to upskill analysts and to write and manage rules.
Your key accountabilities will be:
* Lead and enable a team that is delivering initiatives and operating security platforms for the network of a major Telstra customer.
* Work closely with security operations, architecture and other teams within Telstra and the customer
* Manage relationships with vendors for support and future roadmaps
* Provide input into a roadmap for delivery of upgrades and new tooling for the customer
* Engage, present and communicate the benefits of the security solutions chosen with different customer stakeholders
* Mentor junior staff
* Maintains good documentation and encourages others
* Ensures decisions are made in a way that informs and involves the relevant stakeholders and documents the outcome
About You
* Applicants must hold an active Baseline level clearance as a minimum, and able to obtain and maintain Negative Vetting 2 level.
* Evidence of Technical University Qualifications relevant to the role or Evidence of a minimum of at least three years of relevant recent experience.
* Able to support, manage and maintain ICT security capabilities to achieve Contractual outcomes.
* Ability to manage a team and meet deadlines
* Ability to manage vendor relationships
* Ability to manage customer relationships
* Good Interpersonal and communication skills
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and conflicting priorities in an effective way
* Self-starter with proven ability to work effectively with limited supervision
