Youth Justice Advanced Case Manager - Dandenong Job posted: 15/10/2024 Location: Melbourne | Southern Metropolitan Job type: Full time / Ongoing Organisation: Department of Justice and Community Safety Occupation: Prison and Corrective Services Reference: DJCS/YJ2432 Closes: 10/11/2024 Classification: CYF3 Salary Range: $91,836 - $103,302 Work location: Melbourne | Southern Metropolitan At the Department of Justice and Community Safety, we're looking for people who want to make a difference.We embrace diversity and strive to have a workforce that reflects the community we serve.The department is committed to the safety and wellbeing of children and recognises that children's rights need to be respected, their views welcomed and valued, and their concerns taken seriously and acted upon.About Us The Youth Justice Team provides community-based supervision and a range of case management and support services for young people who are appearing before, or have been sentenced by, the Children's Court, Children's Koori Court, and adult criminal courts and who have been placed on youth justice supervised orders.The team promotes the personal development of young offenders and contributes to the reduction of crime in the community.About the Role As the Youth Justice Advanced Case Manager, you will provide statutory supervision and coordination of services for young people subject to statutory court orders.You will provide holistic support to young people with complex needs, challenging behaviours and/or are high profile on statutory orders, increasing their opportunities of enhanced quality of life and community inclusion.About You To be successful in this role you will have: Strong knowledge and experience in case management practice with experience in coordinating rehabilitative interventions for young people with complex needs at high risk of offending in the community.Understanding of the youth justice system, particularly the principles and philosophy underpinning relevant legislation and the Victorian Youth Justice program including the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005 and associated policies.Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and negotiate with clients and stakeholders at all levels.Flexibility in working within a dynamic and evolving operating model.Qualifications A Bachelor of Social Work or Diploma in Community Services Work is highly desirable.A full driver's licence is required due to the need to respond to emergencies across the state at short notice and outside business hours as required.A current employee Working with Children Check (WWCC) card is required and will need to be provided prior to commencement of employment by the applicant.Why work with us?
