Be part of a new way forward for road network management in Victoria. We’re looking for Network Inspectors to start mid May, based out of our Clayton depot.
About the Role
Starting in July this year, we’ll be working across Melbourne’s south-eastern suburbs and right down the Mornington Peninsula, delivering routine maintenance, emergency response and defect rectification works, as well as network refurbishment and upgrade projects, under a major long-term contract with the Victorian Government.

How you'll contribute:
Reporting to the Inspections Lead, the Network Inspector contributes tosafe, compliant and efficient completion of the VRMC Routine Inspection Program.
Specifically, the Network Inspector is accountable for:
6. Inspecting, assessing and reporting on status and condition of pavement and roadside assets in line with Section 750 PB requirements, contract specifications and internal processes
7. Uploading inspection datato IRIS (Service Stream’s Intelligent Road Information System)in line with Section 750 PB requirements and data management processes
8. Identifying hazards requiring urgent rectification, raising work orders in IRIS and liaising with the Pre-Works team to prioritise rectification
9. Performing or coordinating make-safes for hazards requiring urgent rectification, remaining on-site where required, pending arrival of the allocated Rapid Response or Maintenance crew
10. Contributing to the development and improvement of inspection procedures and processes, including inspection data collection and management processes
Starting and finishing each day with a virtual or in-person Inspection team briefing, in a typical weekyou’ll spend around 75% of your time in the field.
About You:
You’ll have at least five years’ experience in a road maintenance or civil works environment, including at least two years’ experience carrying out inspections of bridges and other structural assets on state or local road networks.

11. A track record of carrying out inspections with arelentless focus on worker, road user and community safety, complying withlegislative standards, contract specifications andinternal quality processes
12. High levels of self-motivation, exceptional time-management skillsand aproven ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision
13. Experiencewith asset databases andGIS-based systems, underpinned by a sound knowledge of asset management principles
14. Strong verbal communication, data analysis, report writing and administration skills
A current Victorian driver’s license is mandatory. Level 1 Structures Inspector accreditation will be highly regarded (we’re happy to support you in gaining this accreditation). Formal qualifications (Cert III or higher) in civil construction are a bonus, but not essential if you can demonstrate equivalent knowledge and capability.
