About the role
We have a permanent opportunity for a Principal Engineer joining our engineering advisory team in Leederville, reporting to the Senior Principal – Performance Improvement. You’ll have the opportunity to lead and shape improvement initiatives across all engineering disciplines by undertaking, managing and supporting the efficient design and delivery of ‘fit for purpose’ water and wastewater infrastructure assets.
As a technical leader, you’ll also provide technical support and advice to planners, designers, constructors and operators as well as set our standards. What the role will involve
* Provide high level specialist technical advice on water and wastewater related engineering criteria and design standards.
* Undertake continuous review and improvement of quality processes and best practice design, and feed into lessons learnt process.
* Lead, coach, and mentor others promoting a high performing delivery culture and collaboration across sections.
* Plan and manage the development and delivery of engineering designs and technical reports using in-house or external resources.
* Undertake major studies, research and engineering investigations to improve the performance of existing assets.
* Represent Water Corporation in consultations and negotiations with industry forums, government agencies, local authorities, consultants, developers and community groups.
Key skills and experience
You’ll have a degree level qualification in an engineering discipline, along with substantial engineering experience in water and/or wastewater infrastructure assets. You’ll also have considerable experience in and advanced knowledge of design, project management, asset management or operations. Your demonstrated leadership, and ability to mentor, collaborate and influence both senior internal and external stakeholders will ensure success in this role.
