Our team is diverse, motivated and professional, aligning under our values of teamwork, integrity, quality, safety and sustainability.Job DescriptionAs a result of continuous company growth, GPA is looking for an enthusiastic process, chemical or metallurgical engineer with 2 - 8 years of proven technical experience in mining, mineral processing, metal refining or similar industries to join our national team, based in Perth.To be successful in this position you will have completed a professional engineering degree that satisfies the entry requirements for chartered membership with AusIMM/Engineers Australia.Key DutiesWorking as part of the Metallurgy Team you will be responsible for:Completion of technical process engineering tasks/deliverables, primarily on multi-discipline projects for the mining industryProviding input and support on engineering studies (concept, pre-feasibility & feasibility), working alongside our lead/principal engineersLeadership on smaller projects, including proposal development, tracking and reportingContribution to the broader Metallurgy, Process Engineering and GPA Perth teams, through regular team meetings, learning sessions and event attendanceSome mutually-agreed site time and interstate travel will be required.Desired Skills and ExperienceIdeally, your skills and experience will include the following:Experience in the design, operation and optimisation of any of the following:Crushing, grinding & flotationHydrometallurgy, including gold processing (CIL/CIP)Pyrometallurgy and high temperature applications (roasting, calcination)Tailings managementSite operating experience, either in a project, metallurgy or production role, in any commoditiesProcess control experience is highly valued, as is project management experienceAny exposure to the engineering design process is preferred, from concept development through study phases and on to detailed designMust have a professional engineering degree that satisfies the entry requirements for chartered membership with AusIMM/Engineers Australia.Key AttributesProactive communication skills, including highly developed report writing abilitiesEnthusiastic, flexible and thoughtfulPassionate about solving problems and delivering client-focused solutionsDemonstrated ability to work as part of a teamAbility to build rapport with staff and clientsWillingness to travel and work on site when required.The Perks!We are a diverse, motivated and inquisitive team aligned under our values of teamwork, integrity, quality, safety and sustainability.
