Selected Duties: Deliver High-Quality Training: Facilitate training courses, assessments, and practical exercises, including the "sail away" training and assessments for Watchkeeper and Watercraft Specialist courses. Collaborative Engagement: Work closely with Defence and TAFE staff to update and improve the training curriculum, ensuring it aligns with both industry standards and Defence needs. Practical Skills Application: From berthing and unberthing vessels to helmsman duties and emergency response, you'll guide learners through critical maritime skills. Deckhand duties: Such as berthing/unberthing, rigging tows, rigging and lifting small loads (tenders), helmsman duties, lookout duties, emergency procedures and operating radios. ABOUT YOU Skills & Experience Certificate III in Maritime Operations (MAR30821 & MAR10220) A minimum Certificate III in Engineering or Automotive Mechanical Technology, plus relevant industry experience. Proven expertise in maritime operations, including practical knowledge of deckhand duties, vessel operations, and emergency procedures. Experience in training or teaching, with a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment.
