**About the Role:**
This is a unique opportunity to work on Australia's picturesque Kangaroo Island as a Service Assistant.
The Kangaroo Island Health Service has a permanent part-time position open for the hotel services sector of the hospital and aged care facilities. We are looking for someone who is willing to work in cleaning and catering, duties may include preparation, service and delivery of food to clients, and general housekeeping.
**Eligibility & Requirements:**
* A current driver's licence and a willingness to drive on country roads.
* Flexibility and commitment to participate in a rostering system (including weekends as required).
* At minimum, a limited level of experience in the areas of housekeeping, cooking/catering and laundry.
* Experience working with Aboriginal consumers.
* A basic knowledge of safe working conditions, Food Safety Standards and Infection Control Standards (including cleaning and sanitising processes).
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
**Desirable Qualifications:**
* Successful completion of Year 11 High School or equivalent.
* A current First Aid Certificate.
* Experience in the areas of housekeeping, cooking/catering and laundry.

**Appointment Process:**
Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Check and appropriate immunisation requirements.
Check(s) DHS Working With Children Check (WWCC). National Police Certificate (NPC) for employment involving unsupervised contact with vulnerable groups required for this position (E.g. aged care employment or work involving vulnerable clients).
SA Health Services are required to implement the Addressing vaccine preventable disease: Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination policy in the workplace.
