The Opportunity - About the Role
Join our FP&A Development Team, specializing in Master Planned Communities (MPC). This role is crucial for partnering within Finance as well as with Development Managers to deliver project reporting and investment analysis, supporting decision-making aligned with Stockland’s growth strategy. You will also play a key role in consolidating the entire development portfolio’s results and providing essential financial reporting.
This hands-on role requires applying your accounting and corporate finance skills to provide financial guidance to a broad range of finance and non-finance stakeholders. Success in this role demands a combination of technical and interpersonal skills, along with strong attention to detail. This is an excellent opportunity to further develop your commercial and business partnering skills within one of Stockland’s key strategic growth areas.
Key Responsibilities Include:
* Ensure accurate reporting of key development metrics and drivers, including Project Income, Yield, IRR, Valuation, and Contingencies.
* Challenge project assumptions to drive accurate decision-making.
* Identify, assess, and manage risks and opportunities, communicating recommendations to management.
* Oversee project-level budgeting and forecasting, ensuring accurate project assumptions are reflected in consolidated accounts and investor presentations.
* Contribute to project funding papers and project control group updates.
* Prepare consolidated management reports for Stockland’s entire development portfolio (Actuals and forecast/budget).
* Build strong working relationships with key stakeholders, including the Development Management Team and the wider Finance Team.
* Promote a best-practice and continuous improvement culture by identifying opportunities to enhance business and system processes.
* Analyse historic financial data to identify drivers of performance, providing actionable insights to enhance outcomes.
* Monitor financial performance, utilising financial and operational data and metrics.
* Deliver the Strategic Financial Plan, Budget, and Forecasts.
* Provide decision support through financial analysis and recommendations to identify and execute strategic initiatives.
About You
* CFA/CPA/CA qualified or similar (or working towards) preferable.
* Strong experience in a finance or accounting role, with a focus on financial reporting and analysis.
* Strong technical accounting skills and experience with consolidation of management reports across various business sectors.
* Confident communication and presentation skills.
* Strong commercial and industry awareness.
* Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
* Experience in project budgeting and forecasting is preferable.
* Experience within the property sector is highly preferable but not essential.
