Queensland Corrective Services (QCS) are seeking motivated practitioners to undertake the role of our new Domestic and Family Violence Program Delivery Officer (DFV-PDO). You will be part of a team of program facilitators who will co-deliver QCS’ endorsed Disrupting Family Violence Program (DFVP) within custody.The DFVP has been expanded to deliver across a new site, namely, the Townsville Correctional Centre. You will work within a highly clinical team who are passionate about reducing the rate of Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) through QCS’ suite of interventions.The ideal applicant will have a strong background in working with persons who have committed, or been affected by DFV, possesses the attributes to elicit behavioural changes through offending programs, and an ability to work alongside other specialist units to reduce the rate of recidivism within Queensland.Qualifications, Professional Registration, Conditions And Other RequirementsThe possession of a tertiary qualification in preferably in psychology, social work, education or behavioural sciences, however, other Bachelor degrees may be considered at the discretion of the recruitment panel in consultation with Offender Rehabilitation and Management Services.Membership or affiliation with a relevant professional association will be highly regarded.In This Role You WillParticipate in planning activities to ensure offenders have timely access to appropriate programs and interventionsAdminister appropriate assessments to offenders and prepare offenders for offender intervention programsEnsure offender program activities are consistent with evidence-based practice and deliver offender intervention programs in accordance with operational plansMonitor progress of offenders during programs and related activities and report on progressComply with program management procedures, standards and guidelinesIdentify and respond appropriately to risks arising from offender assessment and managementMaintain own level of knowledge of contemporary offender programs research and practices, and legislation, policy and procedures in relation to offender managementParticipate in case management activities as required for offenders assessed as requiring program participationProvide timely information to relevant sites in relation to each offender's participation in programs for case managementMonitor offender management files and programs to ensure continuity and consistency, ensuring records and information data for the Integrated Offender Management system (IOMS) and the Offender Programs Assessment Service (OPAS) are accurate and currentEnsure maintenance, accuracy and appropriateness of records and intervention reports for appropriate authoritiesMaintain program data, analyse assessment results and record informationProvide advice to relevant officers regarding offender program suitability and/or other intervention activitiesContribute to case management and sentence management activities for offendersSupport, coach and develop staff to effectively conduct their duties and identify opportunities for supporting colleagues in the effective delivery of programsCompletion of Agency Supervisor and program facilitator trainingProvide supervision in accordance with Accountability Standards and QCS supervision model/approachEnsure the timely provision of program impact reports and advice to courts, parole boards and other agencies regarding offendersPromote value of offender programs through effective collaboration with internal and external professional networksDevelop productive relationships with service providers and the community generally to enhance the community's regard for offender programsEnsure the safety and security of self and others and the security and confidentiality of QCS property and information.Applications to remain current for 12 months.Occupational group: Education & Training
