Category and Contract Specialist Are you an experienced and detail-oriented professional with a strong background in procurement, contract management, and supplier negotiations? We are currently working with a leading mining and resources company who is looking to engage an experienced and highly organised Category and Contract Specialist to join their dynamic team for an initial 6 months with the potential for a permanent position, Perth based. Start Date: ASAP Roster: 5/2 Roster – Monday to Friday. Responsibilities: Oversee the purchasing, supply, and distribution of goods and services required by the organisation. Negotiate supplier terms and conditions, ensuring favourable agreements and cost-effective outcomes. Assist in the procurement process, including drafting contracts, evaluating proposals, and conducting negotiations. Manage the entire lifecycle of contracts from creation through to execution, renewal, and eventual termination. Ensure compliance with all relevant legal requirements, regulations, and company policies throughout the procurement and contracting process. Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams and suppliers to maintain positive relationships and achieve optimal contract performance. Qualifications, Skills, and Experience Required: Proven experience in category management, procurement, and contract negotiation, preferably in a mining or industrial setting. Strong understanding of legal frameworks, regulatory compliance, and contract law. Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills. High level of organisational ability and attention to detail. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Law, or a related field (preferred). CIPS qualification (completed or in progress) is advantageous.
