About The Role: We are seeking a passionate Counselling Practitioner to join our Sunshine Coast team. In this part-time role, you will provide counselling to children, couples, adults, and families facing a range of challenges, while also facilitating group education sessions for diverse clients. Key Duties: Conduct client intake, risk assessments, safety planning, and crisis counselling as needed. Offer brief solution-focused counselling sessions for an array of clients. Facilitate psycho-educational and therapeutic group sessions. Manage client referrals and collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure positive outcomes for clients. Skills and Experience: Relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, or Social/Behavioural Science (eligibility for membership with APS, AASW, PACFA, or ACA). Understanding of the Domestic and Family Violence Act, Child Protection Act, and Family Law Act, and their impact on families. Experience in intake, risk assessment, case management, crisis intervention, and safety planning. Strong written communication skills, including report writing and data management. Excellent interpersonal skills, with a focus on client advocacy. Professionalism and integrity in dealings with clients, colleagues, and community stakeholders. Ability to work with diverse families with complex needs. Availability for some after-hours work. Experience with Brief Solution Focused counselling and group psycho-educational programs. Experience supporting families from various cultural backgrounds. Essential Requirements: Current Blue Card or eligibility to apply. Current driver's license. Current Australian Federal Police Criminal History Check or ability to pass one. Valid working rights in Australia. Why Work for Us?
