This NSW regional hospital has been recently upgraded into a world class facility and is looking for a dedicated Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist to join their friendly, talented and committed team. This job offers a blend of clinical and non-clinical leadership in the Department, including in Outpatient Clinics. You'll have the opportunity to provide excellence in clinical care, ensuring that your work reflects the standards expected of a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. You'll support junior medical staff and clinical teams to ensure that they deliver safe, high-quality care. You'll also collaborate closely with colleagues in the Emergency Department, other specialties, GPs, and clinicians across the district to provide the best possible care. You'll be working with a close group of committed and motivated professionals, committed to promoting best practices in women's health. Key Responsibilities - Deliver excellent clinical care to patients in the ward, outpatient areas, and Emergency Department. - Oversee the work of junior medical staff, ensuring safe practices, accurate documentation, effective communication, and teamwork. - Monitor clinical outcomes, ensuring they meet best practice standards. - Support and supervise junior doctors to ensure that the department maintains its accreditation for training programs. - Contribute to educational programs for trainees and actively participate in teaching activities, hospital Grand Rounds, and clinical meetings. - Engage in quality improvement initiatives and participate in risk management systems to ensure that our services meet the highest standards. - Participate in morbidity and mortality meetings and report any adverse events in line with policy. - Help maintain safe, high-quality service delivery within the hospital and outreach clinics. Selection criteria - FRANZCOG or equivalent specialist training completed in either NZ, UK, Ireland, USA or Canada. - Proven ability to lead and work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. - Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. - Commitment to teaching, ongoing education, research, and quality improvement. - Availability to participate in an on-call roster and respond to emergencies as needed.
