Claims Analyst
* $117,386.00 per annum + superannuation
* x2 full time, 12 month fixed term opportunities
* Geelong or Melbourne based role (hybrid work from home – 3 days a week in office)
About the role
The Claims Analyst utilises technical expertise to Agents focussing on entitlements, worker fraud and quality decision making.
The position will work in the Integrity Intelligence team within the Integrity, Risk & Resilience division and will be expected to be flexible in approach and be able to support the team and the broader Claims decision in a number of different programs and initiatives to drive improvements in scheme performance. The main focus of this role will be to support the management of the Data Analytics Program.
Key accountabilities
* Oversee and manage referrals into the worker fraud pilot
* Provide expert advice on decision making and claims management activities at both case level and system wide claims management
* Investigate and research the most effective procedures to assist in achieving the optimum cost savings in claims management
* Partner with stakeholders within Return to Work Victoria and across the broader organisation to deliver key project milestones for Strategic Priorities and Strategy programs
* Provide expert technical advice to senior management on issues, initiatives and trends relating to claims management generally and where necessary on specific claims
* Liaise with senior management and other WorkSafe personnel, external organisations and other relevant groups or individuals in implementing claims management initiatives

About you
You are a Workers Compensation Claims specialist, with 5+ year’s agent experience. Your strong technical expertise and attention to detail will enable your ability to provide sound advice on decision making and claims management activities. Your communication and organisational skills are highly developed, allowing you to build and maintain trusting relationships with your stakeholders.
Additionally, you will possess the following skills and experience:
* Thorough knowledge and understanding of the principles and operation of WIRC (2013) and the Accident Compensation Act 1985
* Recognised expertise in injury claims case management at a claim by claim level, particularly in respect to Workers Compensation claims
* Ability to forensically analyse data and develop strategies to prevent and respond to worker fraud
* Demonstrated ability to design, develop and implement multi-faceted programs / systems / procedures
* Expert level of knowledge of entitlement to compensation
* Preparedness to question existing claims management practises and recommend new ideas
