The Kabi Kabi Peoples Aboriginal Corporation (KKPAC) has established the Kabi Kabi Ranger Program (KKRP), an Indigenous Land and Sea Ranger program, supported by the Queensland Government. The primary focus of KKRP involves carrying out a range of land, sea,and cultural management tasks. These include cultural site recording, weed control, fire management, visitor engagement, infrastructure maintenance, environmental monitoring, and sea-country management. We're looking for a highly organised and motivated person with a passion for caring for country to lead the Ranger Team. You will bring management experience, commitment, and attention to detail to a team focused on making a positive difference to Kabi Kabi Peoples and Country. Your role will involve reporting to the Senior Management and KKPAC Board, with a focus on the following areas: Management, supervision, and delegation of tasks to the Ranger Team in the field. Scheduling and resource planning with Senior Management and KKPAC Board. On-site troubleshooting, as well as coordinating repairs and maintenance for machinery and equipment. Facilitate general tasks for estate management and maintenance in protected areas, such as fire management and weed control. Operation and maintenance of machinery, park facilities, and recreational areas. Managing natural resources, including revegetation and species monitoring. The successful applicant must possess the following skills: A demonstrated capability in efficiently managing and coordinating ranger operations to preserve natural and cultural resources. An ability to work and communicate effectively with others, whilst overseeing programs and projects in protected areas. Advanced administrative skills for tasks such as managing reports, record-keeping, and using computer programs, including data management systems. Skilled in operating and maintaining tools and equipment, or the ability to acquire these skills quickly. Qualifications in conservation land management, or the ability to acquire. A readiness to advocate for and advance the interests of the Kabi Kabi Peoples Aboriginal Corporation and its Ranger Program.
